2nd International Symposium

"Contemporary Issues of Literary Criticism"

Dear Colleagues!

We take great pleasure in inviting You to participate in a three day 2^nd International Symposium "Contemporary Issues of Literary Criticism" about to be organized by the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature (Tbilisi, Georgia) from 16-18 December, 2008.

Symposium is dedicated to the issues of contemporary literary studies, discussing the problems of Georgian and World literature, literary relations and influences in the context of historical and intercultural communications.

Panel topics may include the following:

Medieval Studies
Mythos, Ritual, Symbol
The Boundaries of a Novel
Contemporary Literary Processes
Text and the Reader
Interculturul Communications
Comparative Studies and Typology of Culture

Proposals for panel topics with participants are also welcome.

Working languages of the Symposium are Georgian, English and Russian

Call for papers:

Paper titles, abstracts of no more than 250 words for 15-minute presentation and short biographies should be sent electronically by April 15, 2008 to the Organizing Committee: maillit@litinstituti.ge

Registration fee is 80 EURO. It covers:

Lunches and coffee breaks during the symposium days (December 16-18, 2008)
Inner transportation during the symposium days (December 16-18, 2008)
Publication of theses
Publication of materials

The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite participants to the wine reception on the opening day and also offers a cultural programme.

Accomodation and travel expenses are not included in registration fee.

Accomodation fee:

50 EURO for a single room

80 EURO for a double room

If willing Organizing Committee will be pleased to book Your hotel in advance.
